THE MOTHER. Directed by Niki Caro, "The Mother" is a Netflix action thriller starring Jennifer Lopez as a former assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she gave up years earlier. The film also stars Joseph Fiennes, Gael García Bernal and Omari Hardwick, and was filmed in part in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, where the city's historic old town stood in for Havana, Cuba. Upon release in May 2023, it broke Netflix's opening-weekend viewership record at the time. As unit still photographer, I documented the production on set, capturing both official stills and behind-the-scenes work of the cast and crew.
